Introduction of the Wendigo's Wind Kennel

Since I was a little child we've always had dogs. At the very beginning we „only" had some mixed ones, guarding the house. They were vicious and I was scared of them. Later on as I got older, I started to pay more attention to dogs, first about training then breeding. I'd like to say a few words about my dogs in the past, although they weren't trained dogs or prosperous breeding dogs, I still look back at their memory with a good feeling.

The first one I can remember is Kormi, the middle schnauzer mix female. We didn't get the chance to spend much time together because once she flew from us and never came back

Tappancs arrived to our family after Kormi had left us. She was a black and tan dachshund mix, who I started to work with. She learnt how to give me high five, how to sit and stay, which is not such a big deal but I was only about 10-11 years old at that time. Tappancs had 2 litters, we kept two puppies from the first one Pötyi, a black and white puppy and Szuli, a brown one. Those two pups were like complete opposites. Unfortunately they both ended tragically. Pötyi was hit by a car and Szuli was poisoned. Many dogs died this way at that time, there must have been an idiot playing around throwing poison to dogs that were not on chain at home.

We kept a male, called Csipszi from the second litter of Tappancs', who actually looked kind of like a dachshund. He guarded the house honestly for a long time, then he died when he was 10 years old. He just fell asleep and never woke up. Later on we moved away from my grandparents to my parents' own house. That's when we got a dog, Gömbi from the border guard, looking kind of like a german shepherd, who was probably based on her mother's false step since he looked like everything else but a german shepherd. :) He lived with us for 12 years while he was the family's body guard. He died in my arms, having a slipped disc because the vet could not help him.

Laddie moved to us when Gömbi was already old. I got her from my dad as a present and I had no idea what a sarplaninac is like. But she was a sarp. Unfortunately we bought her incautiously from a propagator, she was sick all the time so we needed to take her to the vet almost every week but she still died in an inflammation of the lungs when she was one and a half years old. After Laddies death I didn't want another dog for a long while but by the time Gömbi got older, we didn't want to live without a guarding dog around. In July 1997, there were some beautiful love children born at one of my schoolmates from a covenant of an extraordinary dobermann mommy and a beautiful german shepherd daddy. A beautiful dobermann like male came to our house from this litter, named Jerry Lee, who I started the real training with. I already took him to a dog school. I remember how much I worked as a schoolgirl for those few thousand Forints to get the membership card. We even took apart on competitions, where Jerry brought down the house time after time. He became a successful and healthy sport dog. It is due to this black beauty, he returned the affection many times our concerns on dobermanns we had before taking him home, we had no problems with him, he was a wonderful dog. He left us in autumn 2007 at the age of 10 and a half years. I will never forget this dog, I give my thanks to him for these wonderful years spent together, when he always waited faithfully for me during 4 years of high school and even during university. Thank you, Jerry!

And about border collies...

I saw border collies in a documentary for the first time and caught the fancy of its reputation right away, although I didn't know that it was a pure bred dog. No surprise since this breed arrived to Hungary around 1995-1996. I saw some of this breed in a few commercials and newspapers, then I watched the movie, Babe where I saw some black-white dogs and that's when I put the pieces together.

My first BC: Deep Love at Real Pearl "FLY"

I got connected to training through my dobermann. We used to go to dog school, where I met some people actively attending to dog shows. I did accompony to them and on one of these opportunities I met a BORDER COLLIE. I had no idea who they were and I still don't know but I was charmed by those dogs. They ran free by their owner, without any leash. I just loved their silky and glossy hair, they were nice but distant and obeyed to the first word of their owner. That's when I decided to have a dog like this. I started to look around in the dogs' world searching for borders, and I found Judit Papp on the Internet, who we started to talk in E-mails. She told me stories of this breed and its demands and a year later I booked by her for a female. When the puppies got delivered, Judit called me excitedly that there were 4 pups born, but only 2 of these were black-white, the other two were brown-white, a male and a female. I didn't know there was any of these but I was very happy about having such a special dog. The puppies were born on May 11. 2001. and we went to take the puppy home on July 8. I will never forget those minutes when Judit took out that brown, furry little thing. This puppy took a flowerpot and started running around the yard, not caring about us watching her. She was ethereal. I named her Fly after the female from the movie, Babe. Fly had grown up since that making plenty of joy to me which still she does. She's been coming with me everywhere, we used to go to high school practises together, just like to the groceries, post office, on holidays and I made my choice on Kaposvár University because there I had the chance to keep dogs around and Fly had to come with me. She's been living a humane life because of her displasy, although she doesn't like it too much. We still go to work together and she comes with me everywhere anytime I get the chance to take her with me.

Our kennel will increase with newer dogs but we will always have that many dogs that we can share enough time and love with. None of our dogs will get old in a kennel, all of them will actively be up and doing something 'till the end of their lives. Special thanks to the all-time co-owners.

Our breeding plans: I would like to breed as pretty dogs as possible but not extreme, not too heavy and not too furry dogs with as many colours as possible since I love coloured borders. The main point is the health of the body and the soul combining with nice reputation. Working abilities are never disregarded by us, we only use dogs in breeding after herding instinct test successfully taken, and do obedience and guarding training on them and we've also started to sample the world of dog-dancing.

If you like our dogs or you have any questions about them or about the website, please contact us, we will answer to all of the E-mails! Visitors are also welcome to our place after previous reconciliation.
